Tools and Resources
I often get asked questions about my favorite business things, like email marketing, web design courses, favorite templates, online banks, etc etc.
And the answer is almost always ‘ohhh have I got a recommendation for you!’
So here in one fell swoop is a hand-picked selection of my most frequently used and favorite products and services that I rely on — often daily — in my own business.
I love sharing things I love with people. Sometimes, I love stuff so much I become an affiliate for them! You may seem some of those things here, marked with an asterisk*. An affiliate link means I may receive commissions for purchases made through those links, at no extra cost to you. I only share products and services I genuinely have bought, tried, use and love.

I use HoneyBook* to manage my entire client process, including project management, scheduling, emailing, contacting, invoicing and payments, and more.
Termageddon* specializes in helping website owners ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations by providing a comprehensive and automated privacy policy generator. I use their legal pages for my own website, as well as recommend them to my web design clients.

ConvertKit* is an email marketing tool with robust offerings like visual automations, welcome sequences, and tags and segment. It’s also user-friendly and easy to navigate. I moved to ConvertKit from Squarespace Campaigns after almost a year in business. I love ConvertKit, and can’t recommend it enough!
I use Loom to record both short and in-depth training videos for my clients.
I also use it record quick tutorials for my clients and for how-to blog posts. You can sign up for free and get 5 minutes videos, which totally hits the spot when you’re just getting started.
I’ve used the Google Workspace Suite* for multiple businesses of mine. It’s easy to use and robust. One of my favorite things is the ability to have multiple ‘aliases’, so you can have email addresses like ‘support’, ‘hello’, ‘info’ @ your domain …perfect for solopreneurs!
Squarespace* is (obvi) my go-to platform for building and managing websites, providing a great solution that covers design, SEO functionality, and e-commerce options.
I use Squarespace for myself and for all of my clients.
I use Canva every single day. Canva is my ride or die, my roll dog. From blog graphics to website images to infographics to freebie designs, Canva Pro is one of my most valuable subscriptions.
There’s a pretty robust free subscription option available too.
I’ve been on the search for a client portal that acts as an easy-to-use hub, and that my clients can access without creating an account with yet another software. I found it in Motion.io.* A relatively new company, I’m stoked that I found them. Use the coupon code JPK23 and pay just $14/month for your first year of service after your free trial ends.
TEACHERY
Teachery* is a platform that lets you build and sell courses. It’s simple, easy to use, and adaptable to fit a lot of different needs. I’m just getting into it as of this writing, but so far I am loving it!
Novo* is an online business banking account with no in-person branches. I opened my first account in 2020 and have been a happy customer since.
One of my favorite things is the ability to create ‘reserves’, or the envelope system (for those of you who have read Profit First, you’ll be able to sort all your income into corresponding reserves.)
