November 2023 Recap
Is it just me, or did November seem to last FOREVER?
I’m not complaining. It’s been a great month! But boy, I’ve been Novembering for a very long time.

let’s dive into the JPK Design Co November 2023 recap!

Business
Client work - very busy this month! With current clients, potential clients, and future clients.
Business work - again, very busy this month! Some of the highlights include:
~ I made an Availability Calendar for clients to see my next availability. And an ‘At A Glance’ webpage to conveniently list all my services and prices on one page. Currently, most clients come from referrals, so they don’t necessarily see my website before contacting me. So I made an easy one-pager link.
~ I ALSO put together a brand new free resource. I’m excited about it! It’s an online glossary of 70+ business terms that new solopreneurs might not know as they’re navigating a new business landscape.
~ Oh! And I FINALLY figured out my client portal sitch! 🙌 I’ve been on the struggle bus trying to find a method and system that not only worked best for me, but works best for my clients, too.
While I love Notion*, I don’t want to have to include a training video just so my clients can understand how to use the portal. And I ran into other issues with Google Drive, Tally, etc.
I FINALLY FOUND MOTION.IO*, AND IT IS A GAME CHANGER.
Hyperbole? Maybe. But it’s legit just about everything I was looking for, and the co-founders are super-duper helpful. I’m currently writing an in-depth post and review about Motion.io.
But in the meantime, if you’re curious, get a free 14-day Motion.io trial here 👇
Education
For Black Friday, I purchased two of Kate Scott’s programs on sale:
Grow with SEO* - Now, even though I took an SEO course earlier this year, it was SEO for copywriting. I want to really hone in on SEO for Squarespace, for me, but also for my clients!
Scale with Templates - I’ve had templates on my list for awhile now. In fact, I have about 8 drafts going in my Squarespace account. I want to make and sell templates for a couple reasons:
01 - I want to have templates available for clients who want a semi-custom website built but without the wait or the cost of a full 1:1 design.
02 - I want to have lower cost options for solopreneurs and business owners who are more comfortable with a DIY experience, BUT also want a more optimized and built to convert experience than just going in to Squarespace by themselves.
Books Read
None 😭🤣
This might be the first month this year I didn’t finish a single book.
Ah well, that’s life!
Personal
Gearing up to take off a bit of time this holiday season. I’m traveling back to one of my favorite countries for a couple weeks!
CANNOT WAIT.
I’ll be OOC (Out Of Country 😜) for one month. My boyfriend will be joining me for the first two weeks, and I’ll work remotely the last two weeks.
Things I’m Loving
Trader Joe’s Red Fruit Candle - the best smelling (and sounding) candle in recent history
Wandering Aimfully’s Un-Boring Business Coaching Program - it took me so long to bite the bullet on this program, but let me tell you - it is 1000 % worth it! You can sign up for the waitlist at the link, or if you poke around, fall in love, and decide you want in before the spring enrollment, LMK, I have a special link you can use to join anytime.
The sunny cold beautiful fall in the PNW, it’s seriously the prettiest I’ve seen in years!
ConvertKit* - I recently switched from Squarespace Campaigns to ConvertKit for my Email Service Provider, and I couldn’t be more pleased.
WunderEgg - there’s a new vegan egg on the market and I am OBSESSED. If you’re vegan, plant-based, or allergic to eggs, you gotta try ‘em!!
November Blog Post Round Up
Upcoming
I’m currently wrapping up a website project and a branding project for two clients.
And that’s it — I’m not taking any other client work this year. Just wrapping things up and gearing up for next year.
I plan on taking myself ‘off-site’ (ie off my couch or away from my desk 😆) mid-December to have an annual 2024 planning session.
