The team at Hollywood Farmers Market needed a new website quickly after their old one crashed. They wanted something that felt welcoming, local, and easy to use for visitors, vendors, and volunteers. The site needed to support weekly updates for musicians, events, and vendor info, while also making it simple to collect donations and promote seasonal hiring.
Because different volunteers help manage the website throughout the year, it had to be easy to update without tech stress or confusion.
We started with a full website strategy that included their brand mission, four ideal client avatars, audience goals, sitemap, and key features. I created a strategic brand board with fonts and colors inspired by the market’s signage and produce. I also sourced a custom icon set that reflects their values and makes navigation feel approachable and clear.
The site was built in Squarespace 7.1 with dedicated pages for visitors, vendors, volunteers, donations, and hiring. We added sections for community booths, live music, and events, plus blog functionality and an email sign-up. Everything was set up with SEO, mobile, and accessibility best practices so the team can keep it updated easily as the market grows.
